Introduction to Being at Ease through Mindfulness & Self-Compassion
September 5, 2018,6:30 pm - September 11, 2018,7:00 pm UTC-5
FreeWhat does “being at ease” even mean anymore in our hectic rush of daily life? Is it even possible to experience it? How would mindfulness help me be less anxious about the future – or be less depressed about past or current situations in my life? How could a self-compassionate approach help me silence the negative inner critic. Would any of this help me sleep better?
Come join us for a short presentation and discussion about a way to finally understand how you relate to your emotions, and how to successfully manage them through a little education. We won’t be talking about serious mental health topics (the ones that require professional counseling). We will be talking about the typical human experience, which usually includes a little pain and suffering along the way. This specific training was developed by psychologists in a research setting, so the approach and benefits are well established. Think about it. You spent many years of your life in formal training to learn the strengths and weaknesses of your brain and body. But you likely have not had ANY formal training in emotional management and emotional resiliency. It’s well worth your 30 minutes to check it out.
Don’t take our word for it, check out these comments from previous participants.
“I feel awesome for the first time in I don’t know how long. I believed in Skip and the techniques. I feel peaceful and it gave me practices to do in stressful times and anytime. It was life changing experience.”
“This workshop continues to provide me with extremely valuable tools for self-growth. The content and instruction were the perfect antidote for my habitual self-criticism. Nothing has ever touched the Critic in me so deeply. I discovered that I can’t be a truly loving human without this necessary piece of human development — self-compassion.”
